March 24, 2014 Dr. Michael Higgins, 66, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014. He was born in New Orleans, LA, raised in Houston, TX, and later lived for a time with his family in the Syracuse area. He served in the Navy for 15 years, and was awarded throughout his life for his outstanding and compassionate service as a pediatric neurosurgeon and pain specialist. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth, Michael, Anna, Sophia, and Emily. His funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church on Thursday, March 27 at 9AM. He will be buried at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
