Obituary of James V Giampa

James Giampa, 78, passed away in his home on Friday. He will be most remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. 

 

He will be missed for his rollicking sense of humor, his love of music (especially Elvis), his enthusiasm for WWE and his indisputable dedication to his family. He would do anything to make them laugh.

 

He was born in Syracuse and spent 38 years employed by the city he loved as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the DPW. He loved driving his snow plow and was proud that he helped maintain the city where he lived his entire life. 

 

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Susan (Sadlocha); one son Brian (Lisa) of Deerfield Beach, Florida; one daughter, Selena of Solvay; two granddaughters, Lila and Frankie, and sisters Virginia Gehm of Melbourne, FL., Florence Kemp of Liverpool, Mary Barbato of East Syracuse. 

 

Calling hours will be Friday, March 19th, from 4:00-5:30 PM  Hollis Funeral Home.

 

A private service for the family to follow.
