Patty a/k/a The Duchess of Solvay was an amazing woman and I will cherish our friendship and the memories we made over the years. The Duchess loved to go to house and estate sales. We would get up at the crack of dawn, drive to the place and sign in. Once we had our numbers it was off to McDonald's for breakfast and sweet tea for the Duchess. We ran the Neighborhood Watch for several years - everyone knew the Duchess and when she spoke people listened. My greatest memory will be all the times we spent on my front porch with a bottle of wine and talking until dark. She had the best stories and we would always laugh. I don't think she had a mean bone in her body. However, if she didn't like someone or something they did she always referred to them as a "turkey". There are about 17 of them!
