Obituary of Martha Shuman

March 13, 2014 Martha (Golaszewski) Shuman, 96, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2014 in Syracuse, NY with her family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, NY on July 4, 1917, the youngest of her beloved siblings. Martha worked for over twenty years as a tool and die maker at Mark’s Machine and Tool Company. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church where she served as the church organist for more than thirty years. Martha was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin T. Shuman. She is survived by her daughter Jay (Michael) Caiella of Cicero, and was a wonderful ‘Babci’ to her two grandchildren, Jennifer Caiella, of Syracuse, and Benjamin Caiella, of Beverly, Ma. Calling hours will be Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 4-7 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W Genesee St. Syracuse. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 17, 2014, at 8 AM at Hollis Funeral Home and 9 AM at Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church in Amboy. In Martha’s memory, contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, 3690 Armstrong Road, Lakeland, NY 13209.
