Obituary of Bonita Johnson

Bonita “Bonnie” (Knaul) Johnson, 66, left this earth in the loving care of her family on Wednesday, December 8, 2020 in East Syracuse, New York.  Born on November 25, 1954 to Adam “Fritz” and Shirley (Baker) Knaul.  In 1972 she married Duane Johnson.  She was a devoted wife and mother of 3 children who were raised in her Fremont Road home of 42 years.  Passersby could always count on an abundance of spring flowers adorning her yard and porch. She worked for more than 30 years answering calls for countless local business owners who she greeted daily with a cheerful voice and positive disposition.   She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Guthman and is survived by her husband Duane “Louie”, her brother Michael (June) Knaul of Liverpool,  daughter Amy (Derek) Comestro of Ladera Ranch, CA, Kimberly Johnson of Chittenango, Duane “Bubba” Johnson of Chittenango, and Grandchildren Jackson Lawrence, Jayda Lawrence, Anthony Comestro, Donovan Comestro.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
