Obituary of Dominick Anthony Fisch

February 11, 2014 Dominick Fisch, 79, died peacefully at home on Tuesday February 11, 2014. He was born in Poland, son to Andrew and Bronislawa Fisch, and came to Syracuse as a teenager after surviving the persecution of Polish Catholics during WWII, including months in a Nazi work camp and on a death train. He espoused the spirit of the Polish “hart ducha.” Dominick was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He retired from Allied Chemical. Dominick is survived by his eight children: Cindy, Sharon, Loretta, Linda, Christopher, Veronica, Paul, and Andrew; brother, Gene Fisch; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his companion Ms. Loretta Murphy; nieces and nephews; and many loving friends and family both in New York and Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Monica and Longina, and the mother of his children, Ann E. Fisch .Funeral Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Basilica at 9:30 am on Friday, February 14, 2014. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.
