Obituary of Walter Merritt

Walter (Walt) J. Merritt, 77 of Baldwinsville, NY passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020.

Walter is survived by his spouse, Joan (Sharon) Merritt of Baldwinsville, his children, Walter J (Skip) Merritt Jr of TX, Tawny (Edward) Palmer of, SC  Rebecca (Scott) Allen of FL, Michael (Shelley) Merritt of SC, three brothers, Richard Merritt, Leonard Merritt and Francis Loomis and a sister Rhonda Merritt, three stepchildren, twenty grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Walt loved the Navy and served his country during the Cuban missile crisis. Walt was an avid musician who played guitar and had several bands during his lifetime. He loved his Harley and was a member of the Headers Club of Phoenix, NY.  Walt loved playing cards any chance he got with family and friends and he especially loved his trusted companion and family pet Sparky.

Walt is predeceased by his first wife Sally K (Kimball) Merritt, his mother Thelma (Boots) Merritt and his father Harvey L Merritt.

There will be a spring memorial service to be announced at a later date.
