Obituary of Jane Dukat Bognaski
Jane D. Bognaski, always young at heart, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse, NY area. She attended elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse on Morgan Road, and graduated from Central Technical High School. She retired from a long career in accounting at Allied Chemical, before enjoying a few years working at the Syracuse Public Library.
She loved being active with her dear husband Ed, including as members of the St. Louis Club folk dancers and frequent square dancing. Together, they polka danced their way through many Polish festivals and dance weekends, including being on the cover of Empire magazine in their authentic Polish dance costumes. Jane and Ed were active parishioners of Transfiguration Church. They enjoyed wearing their many costumes for church festivities ranging from Mardi Gras to Harvest Fest. Together, they traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Caribbean, with Aruba being their favorite paradise destination.
