Obituary of Arlene M Harris

Arlene M. Harris. DeWitt, New York, age 84, died January 8, 2020 at home. Arlene was born in Syracuse, New York to her parents, Stella and Thaddeus Dembowski. She was a life-long resident of the Syracuse area. She was a graduate of North Syracuse High School and went to work for New York Telephone Company as a map maker in the Engineering Department. She worked for several years before she left to raise a family. Arlene was pre-deceased by her mother and father of Syracuse, New York. Arlene is survived by her husband, David C. Harris; daughter, Lisa Harris-Frydman (Richard) of Lawrence, Kansas; son, Kenneth Harris (Ellen) of Albany, New York; James Harris (Rosalina) of West Hartford, CT; brother Thaddeus Dembowski, Jr. of Syracuse, New York; and several grandchildren. After leaving work Arlene enjoyed homemaking, she was an excellent cook, and traveled extensively with David in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe. She particularly enjoyed annual family vacations in the Adirondacks and Finger Lakes area. In keeping with Arlene’s request, services will be private, with no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arlene’s name to the DeWitt Fire Department, 4500 Genessee Street, DeWitt, NY 13214.
