Donald Mark Huff, 70, of Lakeland, NY, passed away on June 1, 2019 in Syracuse after a year-long battle with esophageal canc   Funeral services followed by a reception will be held at Westside Community Chapel, 6198 Airport Road, Syracuse, NY, on Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m. Don was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Carl and Evelyn Huff on Nov. 17, 1948. After graduating from high school in Orlando, FL, he obtained a professional degree as a Home Entertainment Technician, where he worked for many years repairing home electrical equipment. His favorite activities were woodworking, fishing and golf. Following his high school graduation, Don served for four years with the U.S. Coast Guard, being awarded among other honors with the Silver Star. Don is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Marion Ruth Yorker of Syracuse, NY. Also surviving Don are his son, Kevin Huff, who lives in Tennessee; sister Julie Lanoue of Orlando, FL; brother Thomas Huff of Kentucky; son-in-law and stepdaughter Jim and Dawn DeLucia, and two grandsons, Jordan and Adam. Don was a very active church member, serving as Deacon at Westside Community Chapel for many years as well as Prayer Leader, Sunday School teacher and outreach activity coordinator. He was also the kind of guy who could fix anything, and will be very much missed by his congregation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Westside Community Chapel Deacon’s Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
