Obituary of Melanie Ann Wadach

Melanie Ann Wadach, 94, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019.  She was a life resident of Syracuse, New York, where she lived a rich and full life centered around family, faith and community service.  Melanie was most proud of her Polish heritage and will be remembered by many for her commitment and enthusiasm for S.U., Bishop Ludden and West Genesee sports.

 

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Stanley J. Wadach, her parents John and Stella Pietroski, sister Ann Kowaleski and her brother, Matthew.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Melanie (John) Kelly, Marilyn (Thomas) O’Connor and her sons, Mark (Maureen) and Matthew (Barbara).  13 grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) Nicholls, Michael, Aaron (Katherine), Sean and Mark Kelly.  Brian, Kevin and Greg Wadach.  Jeffrey (Caragh), Lauren (Trevor) Ellis and Peter O’Connor.  Luke and Michael Wadach.  6 great grandchildren, Peter, Henry and Connor Ellis, Amara Nicholls, Sean and Jack Kelly.

 

A mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Monday, May 20 at 9:30am.  A private burial for family will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
