Warneida “Tootie” Olszewski , 99.5, of Syracuse passed away at home after a long and happy life.Born Sept. 17, 1919 to the late William B. and Anna Mae Pleugh in Detroit, Michigan, Tootie was raised in Kingston, N.Y.  She moved to Syracuse when she married Richard P. Olszewski. During WWII, Tootie was a “Rosie the Riveter” making airplane parts for the war effort in Kingston.  She retired in 1994 from Sacred Heart School where she was a custodian for over 20 years.  Tootie was also a proud member of the Sacred Heart Christian Mother’s Club.She is predeceased by her husband, Richard “Morgan” Olszewski, parents, siblings and daughter-in-law Gail (OMeara) Olszewski.Tootie is survived by her children, Matthew Olszewski, Paula (Duke) Lawton and “Otis” (Mary Carol) Olszewski; grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Olszewski, Chris Lawton, Matt Olszewski, Kim (Jeff) MacDonald and Tara Lawton; great-grandchildren, Andrew DiMatteo and Grant, Sophie & Kate Olszewski. The Family wishes to thank Hospice of CNY.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of CNY or Sacred Heart Basilica. Calling hours:Monday, 4 to 7PM at Hollis Funeral Home 1105 W. Genesee St Syracuse. Funeral Services: 9:30 AM Tuesday at Sacred Heart Basilica.  Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
