Obituary of Florence Victoria Bregande

Florence Victoria (Kotash) Bregande, 75, became an angel, and entered eternal rest in heaven in her home on September 15th 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Florence, affectionately known as “Flo”, was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. Flo and her husband Robert Bregande recently celebrated 51 years of marriage, raising two wonderful sons, David and Kevin.  

After 26 years of service, Flo retired from Macy’s Department Store, cherished by many as “The Polo Lady”. She was an active parishioner of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, her childhood parish.

Flo will be remembered for her wonderful smile, her positive energy, and her generous heart. Those who had ever met Flo were touched by her beautiful spirit. Flo’s devotion to her family and friends was unparalleled, and she will be deeply missed by all.

Florence was predeceased by her mother and father, Tillie and Stanley Kotash, as well as her sister Arlene Pinkasiewicz.

She is survived by her husband Robert Bregande, sons David (Sue) Bregande, Kevin (Aileen) Bregande; three granddaughters, Monika, Lexi and Ivy; and several nieces and nephews.  

Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 19th, from 4-7pm at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee St., Syracuse, NY 13204.

The funeral service will be Thursday, September 20th, 9:30AM at Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes
