Charles W. Hall, Sr., 85, died peacefully on July 6, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY with his son and daughter-in-law by his side. Charlie worked in the woods and rode his Harley, “Big Red”, until he was 82. He retired as a cook from Mt. McGregor. He was famous for his cookies and fudge. He owned and operated Saratoga Billiards on Phila Street for many years. Charlie enjoyed life and truly loved people. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Brace) Hall of Greenfield Center, NY; his son, Charles Hall, Jr. and his wife, Tracie, of Colden, NY; his grandchildren, Christopher Hall and his wife, Nichole, and great grandchildren Ella and Dakota Hall of Brighton, MI; Alexandra Baule of Melrose, MA; Austen Baule of Syracuse, NY; Hunter Baule of Syracuse, NY; his brother, Richard Hall, and his wife Barbara of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends in Saratoga Springs and at The Bernardine in Syracuse. Hollis Funeral Home of Syracuse is handling arrangements. The family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Loretto Foundation, 700 E Brighton Ave Syracuse, NY 13205 in recognition of the amazing, caring staff at The Bernardine.
