Carolyn R. Dubaniewicz, 85, of Syracuse, passed away on July 26, 2026, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Chester and Marie Iwanski, April, 23rd 1941 in Syracuse, NY. Carolyn graduated from St. Vincent De Paul High School in 1959 and in 1962 earned an associate degree from St. Joseph’s College of Nursing, then later a Bachelor of Science from Le Moyne College.

She married the late Alfred Dubaniewicz in 1966, and they lived together for 58 years in Syracuse. Carolyn is survived by her son – Michael, also by one granddaughter - Alexandra, and her daughter in-law Maryna. Carolyn was predeceased by her loving husband in 2024, and her dear brother Gerald in 2022.

Carolyn was a dedicated ER nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital for 40 years and was immensely proud of her family leaving behind nothing but beautiful memories. She never missed an opportunity to socialize and spend time with her friends & family whom she cherished. She was a parishioner at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, where she met her husband, both of whom sang together in the I.J. Paderewski Choir. She was also a member of the Rosary Society. Following the mass, Carolyn will be honored for her 40 years of nursing by the Central New York Syracuse Nurse Honor Guard.
