Irene Acquisto, 78, passed away on June 30, 2026 with her husband and son by her side.  She and her loving husband Thomas were inseparable and shared a loving marriage of 52 years.

Born and raised in Syracuse, she called Solvay home for over fifty years. She was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Academy and Central City Business Institute.  She was a faithful parishioner of St. Cecilia’s Church in Solvay, volunteering many years for St. Cecilia’s Church and School, and was a former members of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 6282.

She cherished simple things in life and loved being with her family most of all.  She enjoyed listening to music, cooking and baking for her family, finding the best produce at the farmer's market, ice cream, bowling, and word puzzles.  She worked hard to make holidays memorable.  She was patient, caring, and attentive, and she delighted in her husband, son, and three grandchildren. 

Her family is very grateful for the truly extraordinary and compassionate care of the nursing staff of Upstate Unit 9E, including Lauren, Anna, and especially Grace.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Thomas, son Joseph (Megan), grandchildren Marcel, Adrian, and Quinn, nephew Steven McKenna (Cheryl) and great-nephew and godson Ethan.  She was pre-deceased by her beloved mother Frances Glab and brother Raymond Glab.
