Genevieve Krasnewich Obituary
Genevieve Bugaj Krasnewich, 96, passed away peacefully on May 11. She was a lifelong resident of Syracuse living in Westvale. Gen graduated from Central High School and worked for the R.E. Dietz Company where she retired after 21 years. She was a faithful communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a member of the their Mother’s Club and Rosary Society. Gen enjoyed going to the casino as well as family vacations , and especially her trip to Europe and Poland. She was predeceased by her parents Catherine and Francis Bugaj, husband Robert, sister Helen Nestor, and brothers William and Edward Bugaj.Gen is survived by daughters Gail (Michael) Smorol and Valerie J. Krasnewich; grandsons Brian (Emily) Smorol, David (Kristy) Smorol, Thomas (Amber) Smorol, Mark Smorol , and Joshua DeJesus; great-grandchildren Anna, Christopher, and Sophie Smorol, and Michael Smorol and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be at Hollis Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, from 4 - 6 PM,
Funeral Mass of Christian at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Saturday, May 16, at 9:30 AM,
Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Salisbury Road.
