Susan Marie Harrington, 67, of Syracuse, New York, passed away on April 12,

2026.

Susan was born on April 16, 1958, in Buffalo, New York, to Norman Harrington and

June Thomas. She was the fourth of six siblings. She graduated from Fayetteville-

Manlius High School and attended SUNY Oswego, and later earned her paralegal

certificate, a true enthusiast of the law.

Susan was defined by intense passion in her pursuits and unwavering kindness in her

day-to-day life. She was a gifted swimmer and gymnast with a deep, lifelong love of

music and the performing arts. Susan excelled as a violinist, singer, and actress, and

loved traveling to see her favorite bands perform live.

Susan’s home always had an open door and a generous kitchen with which she loved

to host gatherings of all sorts. She loved nothing more than to cook for her guests, and

her culinary skills matched that love. Such kindness wasn’t only limited to humans

though; a lifelong advocate for animal rights, Susan cared for just about every creature

one can fit in a house. Her beloved pets included cats, dogs, snakes, birds, turtles, a

pig, an alligator, and more.

Above all hallmarks of a life well-lived are a personality larger than life itself and a heart

just the same. Susan’s presence in the world was unforgettable, and for that she will be

dearly missed.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Norman and June Harrington, and her siblings

Debbie Ocasio and Donald Harrington. She is survived by her beloved son, Aidan

Harrington, her siblings Kathe, Julie and Tom Harrington, and several nieces and

nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
