Kobi Maxwell Smith Obituary
Kobi Smith, 28, passed away on April 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.Kobi’s life, though far too short, was filled with joy.
He showed up for people in ways that mattered. He had a way of making those around him feel seen, heard, and valued, whether through a quiet conversation, a shared laugh, or simply being there when it counted. To know Kobi was to know kindness and loyalty.
He carried himself with strength and left an impression that stayed with people long after the moment passed. He was the kind of person who lit up every room he entered with a smile and well timed joke, or just by simply being there when it mattered most.
He found joy in playing video games with his friends, spending time with his siblings but most importantly, raising his children. These moments reflected who he was at his core, someone who appreciated life not for its grand gestures, but for its small meaningful ones.
Above all, Kobi loved his people. He is predeceased by his grandparents, aunt Deb, and daughter I’Lah. He is survived by his Fiance Shaukyra Flagg and two children Alora and Ezra Smith. He is also survived mother, Dawn Barzee, father, Steven Smith, sisters Danielle Morales(Jose), Bridgette Smith, Jamie Butler(Rodney), Jessica Smith, and Kayla McCrary(Michael) and his brothers Joshua Cornell(Dalena) and Steven Smith Jr.
There are many other small things that will be missed, but most importantly, Kobi leaves behind a legacy that honors his family and friends above all.
The funeral arrangements will be held at Living Water Church of God in Christ at 121 Huron St, Syracuse, NY 13207 on 04/13/2026. Calling hours will be from 10:00 – 11:00 with the services to follow. Burial will be held at the Onondaga Valley Cemetery at 2500 Valley Dr, Nedrow, NY 13120.
