Carl G Champagne was born March 24, 1948 to Wilma Champagne and Carlton G Champagne. Carl attended Brewster Central Schools, and Brewster High School in Brewster, New York. Carl was raised in Putnam Lake, New York.,
Carl enlisted in the Navy at 17 which included a tour of duty in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. After discharged, Carl worked for New York Central Railroad in Brewster, N.Y., at the Central Round House location.
Carl was happiest working with his hands, as a carpenter and could fix almost anything, whether electrical, or mechanical. This helped him succeed in almost any job he took on during his lifetime.
Being a quick learner he acquired many skills from his father who was a General Contractor and an Electrical Engineer which helped him build his own home where he resided in Parishville, New York.
Carl learned to operate heavy equipment and mastered it as a career. Carl worked as a crane operator for many years for Farley, B&S, and was a member of the Upstate New York Operating Engineers local 158. In his later years helping to build the replacement Tappanzee Bridge (now called Mario Cuomo Bridge) before retirement
Carl owned and operated the Arrowhead in South Colton N.Y
Carl leaves behind his wife Carla J. Champagne. A brother Bryant Champagne. Four sons Carl Champagne Jr and wife Tara, Patrick Young,James Champagne and wife Heather, James Whalen and a daughter Briannah Sullivan. He was predeceased by his daughter Christa Champagne.
Carl leaves behind numerous grandchildren including Elena Champagne, Jordyn and Travion Webb, Ireland, Beau, and Remington Whalen, Betty Gilmore and Madison Tucker
