Shirley Marguerite Goudreau died on February 24th, 2026 in Syracuse,NY. She was born on December 23, 1942, in Greene, Maine to her late parents Kenneth and Francis (Danforth) Knight. Shirley grew up on her beloved farm in Maine and later moved to the Syracuse, NY area where she raised a family and made many dear friends.
Shirley thoroughly enjoyed listening to music, finding treasures and a good bargain at yard sales, going for scenic country drives, and tending to her flower gardens, enjoying their blooms in summer. She had a kind and generous heart and was always willing to help a neighbor in need. Shirley was full of life and her laughter was infectious. A devoted mother and homemaker for many years, she later found fulfillment as an outstanding home health aide, taking care of elderly clients.
Shirley leaves behind her three daughters, Elizabeth (Danny) Harmer, Janice (Hans) Enyedi, and Carol (Colin) Wasteneys; two sons, David Goudreau and Paul (Melissa) Goudreau; four grandchildren, Tyler (Colleen) Harmer, Ryan Harmer, Olivia (Stu) Wasteneys and Chloe Wasteneys; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden and Kennedy Harmer, and Alden Wasteneys; her sister, Florence LaJoie; as well as many nieces and nephews; and her beloved miniature schnauzers, Mitzi and Heidi.
Shirley will be buried in Auburn, Maine surrounded by her closest family members.
