Gary Alan Corby, 67, of Syracuse, NY died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on February 22, 2026.

Born in Syracuse, NY, the son of Edith (Edie) Bartholomew and Charles R. Corby, Gary attended West Genesee Schools and was an accomplished landscaper. He was quick to lend a hand to both family and friends to ensure the greenest lawns and the brightest blooms in their flower beds. In recent years, Gary volunteered as a chaperone with Tulip Travel, a travel company for adults with disabilities. Gary especially enjoyed sports themed trips including Yankees, Jets and Bills games, even though he was a Miami Dolphins fan! Gary often spent part of Christmas and Thanksgiving supporting The Rescue Mission, feeding the local unhoused community. In his free time Gary enjoyed cheering for SU sports, summer days on the St. Lawrence River boating or spending time in Alexandria Bay and vacations to Florida, especially Anna Maria, Sanibel and Captiva Islands. On pleasant evenings you could often find him on his back porch enjoying the night air, a can of Bud and listening to music, especially Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. 

He is survived by his mother Edie, sister Judy (Ken) Burrows, 3 children, Gary (Jen) Corby, Jordan (Jen Gorman) Corby, and Holly (Matt) Larson, and 3 grandchildren, Juliana, Rocco, Sparrow, and one on the way. As well as aunts, cousins, nieces,nephews, and many friends.  He was predeceased by his father Charles and brother Dennis. 

Calling hours will be on Thursday February 26 at The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter at 4782 West Seneca Turnpike in Syracuse at 10am with mass to follow.
