Diane Synakowski, 81, of Vero Beach, Florida formerly of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and attended LeMoyne college, with career aspirations in the medical field. Diane decided to focus on her family life and raised her four children selflessly with the utmost care. During this time, she successfully pursued many artistic projects including drawing, painting, and crocheting. She loved to cook feasts for her family and extended family. She would not hesitate to give you everything she had if she thought it would make you happy. She always had a happy song in her heart. As the children grew, Diane began working for the 1980 Census and then Onondaga Community College where she worked in the Counseling Center, Computer Center, and the Math Department. After more than 19 years with the college, she was called to begin caring full-time for her father with the help of her sister Regina Bandru. Diane was predeceased by her parents, George and Regina Przepiora, and sister, Regina Bandru. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Louis Synakowski Sr., her children, Robert, Stephen, Louis Jr (Kelly), and Patricia Lanter (Jared), her cherished grandchildren Alexander, Karyna, Nathaniel, Evan, and Hayley, her sister-in-law Rosalyn Synakowski, her Aunt Maxine Bienkowski, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

After moving to Vero Beach, Florida with Lou, she volunteered with the Polish American Social Club of Vero Beach, Respect Life of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, and at the Dodgers spring training camp in Vero Beach. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and joyful care of others, including the preborn, the most vulnerable of all. The visitation will be held on Thursday 3/12 from 4 to 6 pm at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee St., Syracuse, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 3/13 at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Basilica, 927 Park Ave., Syracuse NY 13204. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Town of Geddes.
