Janet M. (Deugaw) Dlugolenski, age 84, of Westvale, passed peacefully on January 18, 2026. She was born in Norwood, New York, to the late George L. Deugaw and Mary Helen Deugaw.

After graduating from high school, Janet moved to Syracuse to work for the telephone company, where she soon met and married her devoted husband, Donald Dlugolenski. Together, they were longtime parishioners of Sacred Heart Church and lovingly raised their three children— Carol, Joe, and John, on Tipperary Hill.

In 1973, Janet and Donald moved to Westvale. She worked for the Syracuse Newspaper before enjoying retirement at home and spending winters in Myrtle Beach with Donald and a fun-loving group of friends. Janet was a member of the Camillus Elks Lodge and enjoyed socializing with the wives of retired Syracuse Police officers.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Donald Dlugolenski; her brothers, Edward Deugaw and Roger Deugaw; and her beloved sisters, Sharon Terzian and Debra Hayes.

She is survived by her children: Carol and her husband, Michael O’Mara; Joseph Dlugolenski; and John Dlugolenski. She was a proud grandmother to Zachary O’Mara and his wife, Kaillie; Sydney (O’Mara) Biggie and her husband, Sean; Tyler O’Mara; and Bryan O’Mara. Janet was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Skylar O’Mara, Blake O’Mara, and Sadie Biggie.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 28th from 4:00–6:00 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee Street, Syracuse. The family extends their deepest gratitude to her home health aides and the staff at St. Camillus Nursing Home for their compassionate care.
