Richard Plochocki, 80, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. A lifelong Syracusan, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, and as an Assistant District Attorney for Onondaga County and in private practice. Richard was an avid fisherman and sportsman and enjoyed tennis. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joy (Clapsaddle) Plochocki; children Jennifer Gaughan (Kevin), Jeffrey Plochocki (Darlene), and Susan Houston (Lynn); four grandchildren (Kate, Abby, Miles, Elliot); his sister-in-law Julie Plochocki; and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Rose Plochocki, and his brother Leon Plochocki.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 10th from 4-6 PM at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 West Genesee St, Syracuse NY 13204. A private burial will be held at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (Parkinsons.org) or Legal Aid of Nebraska (www.legalaidofnebraska.org).
