Gary G. Podsiedlik

October 16,1946 – July 5, 2025

Gary G. Podsiedlik a lifelong resident of Syracuse, New York, passed away on July 5,

2025, at the age of 78.

Born on October 16, 1946, Gary graduated from Nottingham High School in 1964 and

later studied business at Onondaga Community College. His passion for music led him

to a 25-year career in the music industry, where he found great joy and fulfillment. He

later served the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce for 17 years, supporting local

businesses and contributing to the economic growth of the city he loved. After

retirement, Gary devoted 9 years to volunteering and working with Meals on Wheels,

continuing his lifelong commitment to service and community.

Gary was predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Bruno Podsiedlik, and his brother

Bernard Podsiedlik. He is survived by his three nephews, who meant the world to him:

Gary Podsiedlik (Terrie) of Scott, NY; Bernie Podsiedlik (Mary) of Tully, NY; and Joe

Podsiedlik of Liverpool, NY. Uncle Gary took great joy in spending time with his

nephews and their families, always offering his love, laughter, and support.

Gary was known for his sharp sense of style and meticulous appearance; Gary was

rarely seen without a crisp outfit. He was equally famous among family and friends for

owning only manual transmission cars, a trademark of his personality. A loyal Syracuse

University sports fan, he was an avid supporter and cheered with passion and pride.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16 th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hollis

Funeral Home, located at 1105 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.  

A private family service will follow.

In honor of Gary’s memory, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse.

Gary’s kindness, dedication and sense of humor left an indelible mark on those

fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
