Obituary of Christine Tranchell

Christine Tranchell, 70, passed away peacefully with her husband and two children on May 25, 2025.  She was the wife of Paul Tranchell, and they shared 48 years of marriage together.

Born in Newport News, VA to Herbert and Yolande Weiss and grew up in East Islip, NY.  She graduated from Buffalo State College, where she met her husband.  They spent their lives in various Upstate New York Cities, ending up in Syracuse, NY.

She attended Trinity Assembly Church where she participated in the women’s ministry with close friends.  She supported several non-church ministries and was particularly active with Reconnecting Ministries where she participated in several international ministry trips, especially Israel.  Her passion was for Israel, restoring the Jewish foundations of the Christian Church, and bridging the gap with the Jewish community.  She enjoyed taking cruises and cooking.  She is best known for her kindness, hospitality, and love for people.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters Jessica Brescher and Ariel (Allan Handy, Fiance) Tranchell, her much loved grandsons, Joseph and Jason Brescher, and her sister Barbara (Mike) Howell.  Oh, and her “favorite daughter” Kyra, a miniature French Poodle.  She is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Yolande Weiss.

The memorial service will be held at 5:00 on June13, 2025 at Trinity Assembly, located at 4398 Route 31 Clay, NY 13041. Visiting hours will be held from 3-5:00 at the same location.
