Mary Ann Sakowski Obituary

Mary Ann “Tootsie” Sakowski, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William S. Sakowski; her parents, Felix and Anna Pospiech; and her brother, David Pospiech.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary Ann was known for her deep love of family, faith, and community. She retired from Penn Traffic after many dedicated years of service. Her heart was rooted in her devotion to God, her church, and her joy for life—including her fondness for trips to the casino.

Mary Ann lived a life of service and faith. She was a life long parishioner of The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a proud past President of the Sacred Heart Seniors and Parish Council and actively involved in her church through the Mother’s Club, Rosary Society, and the IJ Paderewski Choir.

She leaves behind her cherished children: Theresa (Todd) Webb, William M. Sakowski, Andrea (Francis) Schultz, and MaryBeth (Frank) Lopez; six beloved grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
