Preston Andrew Peays Obituary

Preston Andrew Peays, of Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully at


home on Liberty Street on March 14, 2025. He was born in Brooklyn,


NY, the beloved son of the late Vivian and Moses Pe’ays of


Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.


 


Preston graduated from Longwood High School in Long Island, NY,


where he was an active member of the wrestling and football teams.


He continued his education at SUNY Oswego, earning his degree


before proudly serving in the United States Navy. After an honorable


discharge, he continued to serve his country in the United States


Navy Reserve, where he completed an additional four years of


service and was again honorably discharged.


Following his military service, Preston dedicated 25 years to the


Syracuse VA Medical Center, where he eventually retired. He was


also a proud member of the Onondaga County/Syracuse Masonic


Lodge.


Preston was an inspiring entrepreneur with a deep passion for


martial arts and business. He loved classic movies, reading, and


writing. Those who knew him will remember his vivacious


personality, his caring spirit, and his deep love for his family.


He is survived by his devoted daughter, Danielle Fisher; his cherished


grandchildren, Verena Fisher, Trenajiah Harris, and Isabella Jordan;


his older brother Kenneth Peays and his Fiancé Iris, nephew Kenneth


Jr.; his sister Alexis Peays-Carney and her sons, LaMonne Carney Jr.


(wife Jassmine), Sean Carney, and Karlin Carney; and his youngest


sister, Pattricia Lynn, along with her loving children, Zavia and RJ.
