Obituary of James Howard Brown
James Howard Brown, (81 years old) passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2024. He was the husband of Deanna Jean Brown, who shared 59 and a half years together.
Born in the city of Syracuse, New York. He was the son of Fredric G. Brown and Janet V. McKay. He attended and graduated from Valley Highschool. He was in the U.S army reserves where he was an expert sharp shooter, a Syracuse police officer for 20 years and he was an owner of Onondaga Uniform in Syracuse, New York. He recently had a successful kidney transplant at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.
He was a member and an usher at Saint Francis Xavier. He enjoyed visiting Lancaster, PA. At one time he owned 4 antique cars which kept him very busy. He loved watching the Yankees and his grandchildren play sports. He enjoyed watching old movies and westerns. He was a published author of two historical fiction books. He also spent his time in various clubs and organizations. Jim was also a bookingkeeper for Dermody Burke and Brown and did bookkeeping for different businesses .
He is survived by his wife Deanna J. Brown, who adored him dearly. His daughters Kimberly (Andy) Hourigan of Syracuse, and Melissa (Bill) Croft of Syracuse. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren along with his siblings Susan (James) Barrett, Robert (Sue) Brown, and Mary Beth (John) Sheldon, and god daughter Anna Sheldon and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Ric Brown.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM Saint Francis Xavier Church Marcellus. Burial: St. Francis Cemetery
