Obituary of Doreen Massa

Doreen A. Massa (Salmon), 77, passed away June, 23, 2020 at St Joseph’s Hospital with her loving family by her side.  She is the wife of Lawrence Massa. They shared 52 wonderful years of marriage together.

Born in Syracuse, NY, she grew up with her loving family in Lakeside.  She was the daughter of Frank and Stella Salmon. She was a graduate of Solvay High School, and Syracuse University. Doreen was employed with the SCSD for 32 years as an Elementary teacher.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace church. Doreen loved reading, spending time at the family cottage, baking at Christmas, making wonderful dinners for family and friends; but most of all helping to raise her triplet grandchildren Trevor, Mia, and Kallee. They were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence, daughter Erika (Timothy) Fallon, triplet grandchildren, brother Richard (Sharon) Salmon, Cousin Georgia Nemecek, Cousin Bill (Terri) Fredericks, many wonderful nieces and nephews, 11 Great nieces, and 4 great nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Stella, cousins Mary and Carol, many Aunts and Uncles, and dear friend Patricia.

A mass for immediate family will be held at Our Lady Of Peace Church in Syracuse. At a later date family and friends will be invited to share dinner to remember Doreen’s love of family gatherings.

The family would especially like to thank the staff and Doctors at St. Joseph’s Hospital that cared for Doreen during her illness. The care, compassion, and support shown by everyone at the hospital was truly apricated. Thank you.
