Stephanie Hnatko, 86, of East Syracuse passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020. She was the widow of her beloved husband, Michael Hnatko. They shared 53 wonderful years of marriage together.

Stephanie was born in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of Anna Husak and John Czebiniak. She previously worked for Hygrades, as well as spending time as a nanny. Her greatest passions were being a wife, grandmother, and homemaker, which she enjoyed to the fullest.

She enjoyed reading, listening to Polka music, Law and Order: SVU, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her gentle ways, loving heart, beautiful smile, and love of life.

Stephanie is pre-deceased by her husband, Michael Hnatko; daughter, Debbie Lynn Hnatko; and her sister, Virginia Fleet. She is survived by her children, Michael P. Hnatko and Cindy Hnatko; daughters-in-law, Kandyce Hnatko and Shannon Ottoway; four grandchildren, Bobby, Isabella, Kaylie and Danny; brothers-in-law, John Hnatko and Albert Fleet; several nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are private and will be held at Hollis Funeral Home. Burial is private and will be held at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Stephanie will be honored in a church service at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and there will be a celebration of life at a future date.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The National Kidney Foundation of CNY or CNY SPCA, in her honor.

The family would like to thank Dr. Aliwalas, Nephrology Associates of Syracuse (Dr. Mangat), and the wonderful nurses of Floors 2-4 and 2-5 at St. Joseph's Hospital for the loving care you gave Stephanie and the support you provided to the family.
