Alexander J. Parkolap, 17, of Memphis, NY, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016. He attended Jordan-Elbridge High School. He loved wrestling, fishing, hunting, polka dancing and spending time with his family. Alex proudly attended Penn State Wrestling Camp where he trained with Olympic medalists and national champion wrestlers, as well as participated in several off-season tournaments throughout the years. He also volunteered as an assistant J-E PeeWee Wrestling Coach for several years. Alex is predeceased by his grandparents, John and Emilia Parkolap and Joseph Sikorski, as well as his cousin, Jeffrey Simmons. He is survived by his loving parents, Myron and Lorraine Parkolap, his siblings Nicholas and Tatianna, his grandmother, Frances Sikorski (FL), uncle Jerry Parkolap (FL), aunts Jane (Reid) Steel (MI), Susan (Jas) Klocek (Memphis, NY), Cynthia (Harvey) Keebler (TX), Linda (Kris) Boronczyk (Lakeland, NY), and uncle Joseph (Hazell) Sikorski (FL), aunt Lucille Jones (Camillus, NY) and aunt and uncle Veronica and Earl McIntyre (Warners, NY), as well as several cousins. Calling hours will be Saturday, December 17 from 2 to 6pm at Hollis Funeral Home, 1105 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests donations to National Autism Society (www.autism-society.org) in memory of Alex instead of flowers.
