Obituary of John E. Zales

John Zales, 71, passed away on Thursday at St. Camillus Nursing Home after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse but lived most of his adult life in New York City. After graduating from Solvay High School in 1963 with high honors, John went on to received his bachelor and law degree from Syracuse University. He worked most of his adult life in the field of education and owned his own publishing business. He authored the book “101 uses for a Dead Cube”, and several children books.John was predeceased by his father, Adolph J. Zales and mother, Mary (Ducar) Zales. John is survived by his brother, Michael Zales; sister Jo-Ann Zales; nephews Kevin and Brett Zales; niece Allison Zales; and his dog friend Avalanche. As requested by the family, there will be no calling hours or funeral mass.
