Obituary of Joseph M. Drop Sr.

Joseph M. Drop, Sr., 80, formerly of Lakeland passed away Thursday. He was a resident, along with his wife of 52 years Dorothy(Halczyn) Drop, of Winston-Salem, NC. Joe was born in Jessup, PA graduate of Archbold High School. He was a carpenter, also employed by Bristol Myers Squib for 25 years and retired at age 58. Joe was an Army Veteran and served with the US Army Chemical Group at Ft Bragg, NC 1959-1961. He was drafted for the Berlin Crisis at Ft McClellan, AL 1961-1962. Joe was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland and a member of its Holy Name Society; he was also a member of WCNY, Lakeside Fire Dept. and volunteered at Crouse Hospital. Joe is also survived by daughter Judy Stroud (Dan Wolnik); son, Joseph Jr (Kasia); grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole (Shawn), Ashley and Joshua; Sister, Ann Marie Barret; uncle, Peter Fetsko and cousins.
